11.20.11 - No news is good news

We did not hear anything back from the monitoring, which is good news.  Dr. Verma said that if they saw something that was immediately concerning, he would be contacted and then he would call us.  If not, it will take a week to get the results.  We did not hear anything Thursday or Friday, so I'm thankful that is a good sign nothing serious is going on with the vibrations.  They have seemed less noticeable this weekend, but I'd still like to know why this is happening.  We have our regular appointment December 2, so I am anxiously awaiting that day!

On another note, we had to go by the cardiologist instead of visiting the nature park on Wednesday (we were literally on our way out the door when this momma got the urge and prompting to go ahead and call about the vibrating just to be sure), so on Friday, we finally got to go.  It is becoming one of mine and Liam's favorite places to go.  We've had nature walks down to the creek that runs through it and walks up to the "tower" that overlooks the city.  They also have a huge playground that is perfect for toddlers.  It is just a beautiful place that is only 10 minutes from our house.  I didn't even know about it until a few months ago!  We've lived in our town for 6 years and I never knew this little gem of a place was down the street!

It was a little chilly and windy...Brrr!

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving week!

  1. So glad to hear the initial results weren't anything too scary - but praying you get to the bottom of the vibrations - and SOON! Love all the pics - he's such a cutie!

  2. It sounds strange to say, but I'm glad you didn't hear back immediately from the cardiologist. (lol)- like the title says, no news is good news, right? :)
We have a park that looks exactly like that in different colors right by our house too! Glad you guys are having a good fall! :)

  3. Hi Tara,

Sorry I haven't commented in a while- I'm back to work and it is such a hard transition! I haven't kept up with blogs like I like to. Anyway, I hope things go well with Liam and his upcoming appointment. I'll be praying for him! Also I wanted to mention in regards to your last post about him saying "I can't" and teaching him scripture- are you on pinterest? If so you should check out my boards- there is a great idea on there I saw where you make like a Shutterfly book with simple scriptures and put pictures of your own kids that have to do with that scripture (I hope I'm making sense). Anyway, I loved that idea and I am working on one for Andrew. Let me know if you aren't on pinterest or can't find it and I can send you an email with a picture or the website where I found it. (I might also share it on my blog soon).

Take care! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. Tara, I am so sorry that I have been absent from checking the blogs....all blogs to be exact but am finally getting back into the swing of things again. I totally missed you posting about the vibrations in Liams chest. That is a "thrill" you are feeling when his heart beats. It is common when a heart murmur increases in intensity. Logan has them before and currently has a pretty loud one. It is pretty intense and easily felt. You can most easily describe it as a "purring kitten" in his chest. I know this probably isn't something that you want to hear but I felt compelled to answer your question as to what it is that is causing the vibration. Normally it is from some sort of stenosis that causes the higher pressure resultign in a murmur. If you have any questions please e-mail me.
